In addition to my many cane and tool options listed in my bassoon specialty store, I now offer DONATI processed bassoon, including gouged only, gouged and shaped only, and gouge, shaped, and profiled cane.
There is no middle man or subtractor here….all work is done personally by me, only using the finest tools & machinery available.
As with most of the growers these days, processed cane is now produced using CNC machinery (computer numerically controlled). Thus the consistency of both the gouge thickness, and the profile are truly remarkable. It is for this reason that I now order gouged cane directly from DONATI , as their machinery for the gouging process does such a better job than I or I believe anyone can do using the standard table top hand gougers.
