Here is an original Belgian movie poster from the first rerelease of the classic Hal Roach Studio comedy,
Sons Of The Desert.
One of Laurel and Hardy’s earliest full length features, this film follows Stan And Ollie as they trick their wives into thinking that they are taking a medicinal cruise while they are actually going to a convention. All hell breaks loose once the wives find out the truth. This poster is believed to be from the 1st Belgian re-release of the film after the end of the war in Europe. It probably dates from 1946 or early 1947 since it is printed on the reverse of an ordnance map in order to conserve paper
. The striking artwork is unique to this Belgian release poster which seldom comes up for sale or auction. It is in very good shape for a poster of its age.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN / SIZE: Belgium, 14.75″ x 21.75″
CONDITION:
Very Good Untrimmed Folded Condition. Untrimmed top white border has what appears to be a remnant of a former theater snipe in the right corner. Some crinkling of paper in surrounding borders. Printed on the back of a map.  Artwork is vivid and completely intact. Folded in half as originally issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 18 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
